Thomas Arnold originally purchased the land at Chase Farm in 1661. In the late 1800’s, the Chase Family started a dairy farm on the land, and delivered milk door to door until 1965. This was one of the last working farms in Lincoln, purchased by the Town and preserved for its historical value and open space. The Butterfly Gardens, which are maintained by volunteers, serves as a focal point to this scenic landscape.
This year's Yoga In The Park brings an element of nostalgia- this is where studio owner, Christine taught her very first yoga class, in July 2012. Fresh out of yoga teacher training, Christine offered free "backyard yoga" sessions for friends from Rhode Island to Maine. She also launched numerous free yoga programs for municipalities, organizations, and gyms as a means to gain teaching experience and share her love of yoga.
That first class on a drizzly July evening, garnered three participants who were blessed with the sighting of a deer emerging from the trees just as class ended. Chase Farm is also the location of the photo shoot that produced the picture gracing our website 2017-2022. The Woods studio was born out of Christine's experiences leading yoga in the park sessions through the years and it's a dream come true to return to Chase Farm to share the practice of yoga. We are offering FREE classes in the park as a community service to support our mission of "more people doing more yoga"- we hope you can join us!
We will be accepting donations, all proceeds go directly to The Lincoln Animal Shelter.
